Makeup Releases To Be Thirsty For (Jan 2017)…

Only 19 days into 2017, and the beauty community has been seriously shaken by the innumerable beauty releases. Whether rumoured sneak peaks, or actual product releases; Trendmood’s account has been more active than ever! If you’re unfamiliar with Trendmood, she is the go-to account for any and all new releases or sneak peaks of products to come. If you’re into beauty at all, I’d seriously recommend following her and turning on the notifications! Lately it seems almost weekly that I find myself adding new products to my wishlist. So, I figured it’s about time I start a series where I regularly share my recent lusts and perhaps be your source of recent releases- a miniscule Trendmood, if you will. Here are the makeup products I’ve been admiring these past few weeks- some have been out for a while and some are very very recent- it’s definitely a wide range!

First Aid Beauty’s Hello FAB Coconut Skin Smoothie Priming Moisturizer

First aid beauty has fallen under the radar recently. They had their hyped moment and were the brand to buy all throughout 2013-2014. But without any new releases- most of us have forgotten about them. The release of this Hello Fab line has definitely changed that! The whole range sounds interesting, but I’m most tempted by this coconut primer. This reminds me of my holy grail Too Faced Hangoverx considering it has coconut and seems to have the same texture. There’s nothing I love more than a creamy milky primer and this sounds perfect. It claims to moisturize while also prime your skin, as well as adding luminosity and having light-reflecting properties. Need this ASAP!

Becca First Light Priming Filter

Clearly I’m having a bit of a primer moment… I love all things becca. It is definitely one of those luxury brands you can trust to deliver every single time. So, naturally when they delved into primers last year, we were all very excited. However, I still never got around to trying any out. This recent release of the purple toned skin-awakening primer has certainly convinced me to go for it. This sounds like everything I look for in a primer: brightening, evens out imperfections, hydrating and reviving. Cannot wait to try this out, I have a feeling it’s going to be obsession-worthy.

Giorgio Armani’s Power Fabric Foundation

I think it’s safe to say we all remember the Kardashian-induced obsession with Giorgio Armani’s luminous silk foundation. It was possibly one of the most hyped up products- and it actually did work wonders! So it’s no wonder that everyone is in awe at this new release and I personally cannot wait to try it. It sounds like the dream foundation ( I mean, they always do, so we’ll see). It promises to give full coverage while also being long-lasting, but most importantly it is supposed to give a breathable finish that looks like second skin! I think we can all agree, that sounds like perfection!

Colourpop’s Lo-Key Eyeshadow Palette

Yes, yes, yes and yes! This is possibly one of the most exciting products on here! I’ve always been obsessed with Colourpop and I absolutely love their formula. The only problem is I’ve always struggled with applying their shadows, none of my brushes seem to work right. I’ve read that it’s recommended to use synthetic brushes but it just never applies like I want to unless I use my fingers. That was fine, but this release answered all my prayers. The range released includes two palettes and a bunch of individual shadows- but this Lo-Key palette is just me in a palette. While I should probably stay away from it considering I have about a thousand palettes identical to it- I just need to see how their formula translated to pressed powders!

Too Faced Sweet Peach Glow Palette

Now, this has been out for a good while now and the hype surrounding its release has died down a little; not for me though! At first this palette seemed like a terrible idea. I didn’t like pink toned highlighters and I didn’t like shimmery bronzers or blushes. But the more I saw it circulate and the more looks I saw created with it, the more tempted I was. Suddenly the shimmery blush seemed like an amazing idea to give your cheeks some extra sheen! The packaging alone has me gunning for it. So It’s definitely a want now!

Urban Decay Vice Liquid Lipsticks

Is it too late for me to take back my statement of Colourpop being the most exciting product here? Urban decay took over the lipstick game with the release of an entire range of Vice lipsticks earlier last year. The shades were endless, as well as the formula options. It slowly became everyone’s go to lipstick. It’s only natural that Urban Decay chose to take it a million steps further by releasing a similar range but of liquid lipsticks! I cannot remember the last time I was this excited for a lippie release. These sound absolutely dreamy. They promise to be insanely long-lasting, and when has Urban Decay not delivered when it comes longevity? Aside from that it promises to be extremely comfortable and insanely pigmented! I have a good feeling that these will kick my Too Faced Melted’s out of the running for holy grail liquid lip!

P.s. Stay tuned for a Skincare roundup too, soon!

  2. That Colourpop palette is everything. I heard if you buy 4 single eyeshadows new ones that they pack them by themselves in that kind of palette so you can make your own palette. And that peach palette is everything 😍

    1. No way!! Omg that’s so useful to know actually cause I’ve been loving all the individuals they’ve released. Thank you! xx
