*drumroll* It is finally time for the first installment of my Mascara-A-Week series! I wanted to start this off with the throwback-iest of throwbacks. I can very clearly remember Maybelline’s Lash Sensational mascara being the first one that completely impressed me. Before that I had been using mascaras but never really packing it on or noticing that big of a difference. I’ve never had nice lashes really, they’re just there! It’s only very recently that I started to not wear a cat flick on some days and rock mascara alone- I would never dare in the past! But, this mascara changed the game for me. You could say it started my mascara obsession…
The Lash Sensational just completely transformed my lashes; I mean, it made it look like I had some, which was enough for me! It gave my insane length and volume and amazing curl. I was hooked. But then I began to discover more and more mascaras and it completely fell behind. I haven’t used this mascara in over two years now – yes! So, I finally decided to give it a second try.
Now, this did really impress me. If I’m honest, I didn’t think it would be able to hold a candle to any of my recent obsessions. But, it actually fared well. I love how this looks, I genuinely feel like it’s the blackest black mascara I own – I will say that. It still did give my amazing length and beautiful natural volume. I had grown accustomed to insane volume meaning clumpy lashes, but this really separates my lashes and leaves them beautiful.
But, I will say I still don’t think it’s as WOW as it used to be! I’ve just found so many other mascaras that are crazy and leave my lashes looking almost fake. This really makes the most out of my lashes, but basically I wouldn’t wear this without eyeliner. I still think I will repurchase this because it’s affordable and really is amazing, it just won’t be replacing my holy grails unfortunately!
Let me know how you love this mascara, I know it’s a holy grail for most- and I do see why! I just don’t think it’s holy grail status with my lack of lashes.
P.s. Can I ask you guys a question? Have any of you tried the NYX total control drop foundation? I’m really confused as to how to feel about buying it… S.O.S!
