April 2017 Favourites

Can I just say that for once I actually can believe the month is over. Is it just me, or did this month actually pass pretty slowly? I’m definitely not complaining because 2017 altogether is flying by, so I’ll take my slow months where I can get them! This months favourites are actually pretty exciting because for once they’re all products I purchased this very month. Granted, some are old, old, old classics, but I haven’t used them for years so it still counts okay? Okay. Let’s get right into what I’ve been loving for the month of April…

Do you know that feeling when you buy a product randomly just to give it a go even though no ones ever spoken of it, and the second you apply it you fall deeply in love and know you’ve discovered a holy grail? Yeah, that was me with Soap & Glory’s Speed Plump All-Day Moisture Marvel , this is even crazier because I usually hate Soap & Glory products! I’ve tried so many and they just never work out for me or they break me out. This is my favourite part of my makeup routine every single day. The second you apply this you feel your skin drinking it up and you can feel your skin getting plumper. It genuinely works and you will see visible results instantly. Can’t live without this! I’m thinking to write an in depth review of this.

Now aside from the lippie sticks, I’ve actually really been loving everything from my Colourpop haul recently. This palette has definitely been a standout. Their Double Play palette comes with a very warm bronzer and a champagne highlighter and I’ve been using these everyday. I love how huge the pans are and just the packaging, but mostly I love the product itself. This highlighter is the most gorgeous finely milled powder highlighter and the colour is so intense and pretty. I honestly can’t believe how inexpensive these are because they’re seriously amazing!

This is such a cult classic for most makeup lovers, and I did used to swear by it but I actually haven’t used it in over 2 years. Rimmel‘s Stay Matte has always been a strange product for me, I hate the sound of matteness so I tended to stray from it but recently I decided to just try it out. I actually haven’t been setting my face with this, I’ve been using it to set  my under-eyes and I’ve finally found an amazing use for this! This will set your under-eyes and avoid any creasing but it does not look cakey at all. I’ve really been struggling with loose powders, so I think I’ve finally found my saviour.

I raved on about the L’Oreal Fine Flowers Gel-Cream Wash in a recent post so I won’t repeat myself. But, just know that this is the perfect gentle wash and it leaves my skin so soft and hydrated with every use!

Another old classic that I’ve only recently tried out. I constantly hear Alix from I Covet Thee rave on about the Match Perfection Concealer and so I decided to give it a try a while ago and wow. This is honestly my favourite concealer formula I own right now. It’s very comparable to Too Faced’s Born This way in the sense that it’s so hydrating and leaves your undereyes looking so smooth and flawless without being cakey. My one gripe with this is the applicator, I absolutely hate it and I feel the product building up on the brush and it gets drier and it’s a huge mess! I’m thinking to cut it off so I just get actual product to come out – we shall see!

Let  me know what products you’ve been loving this month- feel free to link your favourites in the comments, I’d love to read them!

I am using Rimmel Stay Matte and it is a second repurchase of the powder, I like it mostly because of colour match to my skin and quality for the price. I haven’t tried much from Soap&Glory but I would be interested in reading your toughts on their moisturiser 😘

I could not survive the summer without my Rimmel Stay Matte powder. Even at 53 I still get shiny in the summer and this helps me last until the afternoon without a touchup.

I totally agree with you about the Rimmel match Perfection concealer. I love it, especially with the matching foundation. But the brush is scratchy and no easy to use x
