The second that L’Oreal came out with a range of cleansers a while ago, I instantly ordered them. I had just posted about my new holy grail Glamglow cleansers at the time, and hearing that a drgustore brand was coming out with clay cleansers was an offer I couldn’t resist. Now, at first I was slightly critical. I ordered the whole range for the blog to review them for you all, but I actually wasn’t a huge fan of the pure clay masks. Don’t get me wrong, I do use them regularly -I just don’t think they’re anything special. But, I had to try these out. It’s been a while because I wanted to give them a thorough test, I decided to give each cleanser a week or so dedicated to using it so that I could really reflect.
Expectations: I don’t mind drugstore skincare, but cleansers I do tend to steer clear of. I just don’t find that they work well. They tend to be stripping and drying while breaking me out. I had watched and read reviews of these and a few mentioned those side effects, so I was dreading using them and breaking out again after a clear phase.
Reality: Where even are my Glamglow cleansers? I have no idea. I have been religiously using these every single day twice a day. They work so beautifully. I knew I was in love the second I realized they hadn’t broken me out, and the love only grew further after every use. My skin would always be left feeling so soft and smooth and strangely hydrated. I’m honestly so impressed with the quality
Let’s start with my favourite; the Pure Clay Detox Wash. Now, I actually had the least expectations for this one, I really felt like the mask didn’t do much for me so I expected the same. I also worried it would be too drying. This feels so amazing to use, as you rub it in it honestly feels so hydrating and once it’s washed off my skin is left feeling so deeply cleansed but soft and hydrated as well. It’s honestly the craziest thing.
Second best comes the Pure Clay Glow Wash which I was actually excited to use. This is the exfoliating wash and I haven’t used a physical exfoliant in ages, so I was excited but worried it would feel too harsh. This has the tiniest little pieces in it and honestly hardly feels like an exfoliation but it does leave my skin visibly smoother and radiant so I know it’s actually working without hurting! I love using this at night after removing my makeup for a more intense cleanse.
I raved all about the Fine Flowers cleanser here and here, so I won’t waste your time again. Love this, honestly it’s the best cleanser if you want a gentle but thorough cleansing and to be left with super soft skin. Obsessed!
Lastly, comes my least favourite. I just don’t have a precise reason why I love the Pure Clay Purify Wash. I do use it, but not as much as the rest. It does cleanse my skin and it doesn’t break me out, but that’s basically it. So, if you’re looking for a simple cleanser I’d suggest this one. I personally like for my skin to feel and look drastically better after washing it so. Also, funny story- it has blue glitter on it because it fell into my bath tub once with a lush bath bomb in it haha. Story of my life
Let me know if you’ve tried any of the cleansers and how you feel about them!
I can’t wait for these to come in our drugstores, I want all of them. Great post dear! xx

Agree with you about drugstore cleansers. I generally steer clear from them (with a few exceptions) because I feel some either dry your skin out like you say or they don’t clean the skin that well, only the surface.
Would be interested to try this out though now that you’ve mentioned it!
