Now, we all know I love a good subscription box. Paying $10 a month to get a bunch of deluxe samples will always be okay by me. Sometimes you’d rather try before you buy, and subscription boxes are a great way to do that. The best part of being back in the US is signing up to them. You may have seen my Sephora Play unboxing last month, and I ended up biting the bullet and signing up to Birchbox again. You may remember my monthly Ipsy vs. Birchbox battles, and it was time I brought them back, or so I thought… Let’s see the shitshow that this month’s Birchbox had in store.
How beautiful is this packaging? Obsessed. Well, the positivity ends there, so brace yourselves….
Tired, old, bored. Now, the last time I was subscribed to Birchbox I stuck to it for about 6 months until I left the US. I genuinely can’t count the amount of Eyeko products I receieved during that time, and every single time I rated them lowly. I know a lot of people love Eyeko, but I’m just not a fan. Especially when I get eyeliners, considering I only like to use brush bristled liquid eyeliners- felt tips just dry out super quickly. I’ll give this a try because it does swatch very black, but I’m just not very excited.
Say it with me guys, I. Don’t. Like. Hair. Products. I just stick to what works for me, and I’m rarely willing to try new styling products. This is especially true of heat protectors, so you can imagine my disappointment when receiving this random brand Beauty Protector’s heat protector. Again, as with the last product I will obviously try and maybe I’ll be surprised but for now I’m not excited.
I’d say this is the one product I don’t mind, but even then I’m not super excited. I swear by dry shampoos, and although I have my cult favourites I am always willing to try new ones. I think I’ve gotten this Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo from Birchbox before, but I don’t mind using it again.
I will never understand why Birchbox insist on sending this brand with every single box. It’s okay, but really nothing special at all and I’m always disappointed to receive it. This time I got their Hydra-C 24H Energizing Hydrating Gel. Does nothing for me.
The disappointment continues. I can’t count how many times I’ve gotten samples from this irrelevant palette, but this time takes the cake. What even are these colors? Honestly, I’ll probably use them as eyeshadows if I even use them at all. Just super disappointing.
*drumroll* This sucked. So much so, that I decided to really get melodramatic and UNSUBSCRIBED. I’m sorry but I just do not have time for them anymore. I needed this first box to be good enough to keep me subscribed, but it was the most disappointing one yet so I just don’t have the time or money anymore.
