Introducing Falling into Fall: The Skincare Edit

Fall has fallen upon us. I mean, realistically it’s been in full force for a while now. With Winter creeping around the corner, I thought it was time to round off the season with a little fall series. We all know I love a good series. They just bring me joy! While we still have a few weeks of the season, I figured it’s the perfect timing to share some of the beauty changes I’ve made this fall. This series is going to consist of a skincare routine, makeup routine and a lot more! Hope you’re as excited as me to delve into everything I’ve been loving this fall. Think of it as a week-long favorites post…Of products I’ve been loving for a couple of months… A seasonal week-long favourites…Just roll with it, okay? I really liked how “Falling into Fall” sounded.

I’ve decided to kick things off with the way I’ve started and ended everyday. It’s been far too long since I’ve written a Skincare post, which is crazy considering how much my routine has changed. Now, you’ll all know my The Ordinary addiction. Yet, somehow I’ve ended up with none of their products in my routine. I’ve really been enjoying experimenting with skincare the past few months and trying out new, higher end products. My skin is in a pretty rough place. It has suddenly gone back to breaking out these past few months, and recently it’s started to get very dry in some patches. I’ve dipped and dabbled with a few things, and this is the routine I’ve found works best for me right now. Let’s see what I’ve been using.

Of course, let’s start with face wash. For my first cleanse I will always use the Makeup Eraser- try to stop me. But, for cleanser I’ve been obsessed with Glamglow’s Thirstymud Cleanser . Last month I was constantly using Philosophy’s Microdelivery Daily Peel but with the recent dryness I’ve been struggling with I’ve had to switch things up. This stuff smells insanely amazing, but I love how hydrating it feels. It really leaves your skin feeling squeaky clean without stripping it, my skin is always left glowing.

Now, let me tell you, this stuff is very appropriately named. I’ve always been super curious about It Cosmetics skincare, and I decided to give them a try. I started by picking up their new Miracle Water which claims to be a micellar water, toner and essence in one. It is anti-aging and pore-refining. I’ve been using this as my toner/essence step. Honestly, I’m obsessed. It’s been a while since I’ve loved a toner like this one. It just gives my skin such a beautiful radiance and honestly feels kind of exfoliating. I’ve noticed a visible difference in my pores after using this, and I also think it’s been soothing my breakouts as well!

TIP: Something random I read somewhere has also been helping my skin out. I’ve started to remove my makeup, cleanse my skin and tone very early on in the evening. Usually before it even gets dark. Then after a couple of hours I apply my next step (serum/treatment) and wait another few hours to moisturize at the end of the night. I’ve noticed this really helps the products sink in and do their job better!

This is a very very recent favourite, but consider the miracle it worked I have to mention it. Kate Somerville’s Anti-Bac Lotion has very much been a double-edged sword for me. It’s saved me in some ways, and brought up new problems in others. Now, my nose has been going through it for about a year now. I use pore strips regularly but for some reason nothing has worked this past year. It looks bumpy and like I haven’t used a pore strip in years. I had just given up, when this unexpectedly worked. I bought this to work as an acne treatment but it has done so much more. I used this for two days, TWO DAYS, and my nose pores completely cleared up. It is baby-soft and smooth, I shit you not. I’m beyond shook. I never expected anything to work and this did in literally two days!! Now, it has also been helping my pimples heal quickly, but here’s the downfall… This has been really drying out my skin. I’ve never struggled with dryness really, but wherever I apply this I’m struggling with dryness. Honestly, for the results it gives me, I’ve just been counteracting it by really deeply moisturizing and I’ve learnt to balance things out. I still love this stuff!

Now, eye cream actually comes first. I always make sure to apply my eye cream before applying any treatments or creams. I recently got a bunch of deluxe samples of It Cosmetics skincare through Sephora, and I have a few of this eye cream that I’ve been obsessed with. The Bye Bye Under Eye Eye Cream has just been giving me life. It is just so intensely hydrating and I feel like I visibly noticed the plumping effect it has had. Definitely going to pick up the full size of this!

The discovery of the year for me has to be the Secret SauceI hate that this is so expensive, because I’m simply going to have to continue to repurchase it. Luckily I have about 4 of these samples, but I’m obsessed. I have never actively loved a moisturizer. They always just do the job and that’s all. Well, this is life changing. It hydrates my skin so deeply it’s crazy, and it genuinely has been tightening my skin and smoothing out my texture. I cannot get enough of this stuff, I just pack it on every night and wake up with the softest skin. If it weren’t for my breakouts, my skin’s texture has been in the best place ever thanks to this angel!

So, there’s my skincare routine! Sorry for how long this was, I think we all know that skincare demands rambling rants! Let me know what new skincare discovery you’ve been obsessed with!

  2. I love your application tip of waiting between skin care steps at night, I’m going to try that out! It makes so much sense to let the products do their job before moving onto the next product.

Love reading your skincare routine! I loved finding out about the Secret Sauce too! XD Sounds like It Cosmetics has quite a few winners in the skincare department! And that Kate Somerville product sounds amazing despite the dryness.

Yess, I’ve never tried It Cosmetics before so I was so surprised! But honestly they’ve been giving me all kinds of life haha. Yeah, I’ve started to just apply the kate somerville product to my spots as a treatment because using it all over has gotten too drying haha. Thank you for reading as always babe xxx
