Let’s not start yet another blog post with a love letter to fall. It’s over, winter is pretty much here, and it is definitely time for me to move on! November was actually a huge month of new products and new loves. I was silly enough to go on a crazy shopping binge around the end of October which left me pretty broke by the time black friday came around -sigh-. But, this does mean that I’ve discovered a lot of new favourites that I can’t wait to tell you all about. Let’s jump right in…
Over the past couple of weeks I’ve completely transformed my skincare routine from the one I stuck to throughout most of fall. My skin is thanking me daily with a little song and dance and I think these two products played the biggest role in this change. I love my acids, I constantly need some form of acid exfoliation in rotation and yet I’ve never used pads. Peter Thomas Roth’s Max Complexion Correction Pads have been around for ages and ages and I’ve always been curious. After MakeupbytiffanyD‘s reccomendation of Kate Somerville’s Anti-Bac Lotion worked so well for me, I decided to trust her and try these out too. They have been working absolute miracles and kept texture completely at bay. I don’t even have words for how transformative these pads have been. I thought my skin was in a good place but this really upped the ante.
Surprisingly, both of these products that have saved me are super old classical favourites- I’m not complaining. Clinique’s Dramatically Different Lotion has been a cult favourite for longer than I could possibly remember, I do recall always spotting it on Carrie’s counter in Mr. Big’s bathroom though. I remember trying the Gel formula when I was much younger, but this has changed my life. It feels like the most deeply hydrating and nourishing thing I’ve ever used, and every morning I wake up with skin as smooth as a baby’s you know what. If I had to pick a keyword to describe this I’d say nourishing because that just really sums it up. I’m obsessed!
When I haven’t been going for my millions of favourite dark fall lipsticks, I’ve been all about a hydrated plump natural lip look. I like a little flush of pink with a glossy finish to look super fresh and youthful. My pick lately has been Buxom’s Full On Lip Cream in Rose Julep. This is hands down my favourite lip gloss of all time. I can’t even describe how beautiful this looks on. It is slightly plumping but the gloss is what I love most about it, it’s such a gorgeous wet look!
I can’t even tell you how many foundations I’ve been testing out recently. There have been some great finds, but also a ton of fails! The one that I just keep reaching back for and using when I want to guarantee a good skin day has been the NYX Total Control Drops. I’m sure you guys are happy for me, considering how long I was tempted to buy this for haha. I can confirm, it was worth the wait! This stuff genuinely melts into your skin. It feels like you have nothing on while covering absolutely everything– and this shade is my absolute favourite foundation shade I own (it’s in Buff btw). I just cannot get enough of this and definitely need to stock up on some back ups!
When I’m at home or even when I’m out and about, I often just want a slight tint to my lips. I love my lippies but sometimes I just want a stain that’s going to give my lips some color without committing to a product. I’m constantly testing out lip tints/stains and finally found my dream one. E.l.f.’s Aqua Lip Tint has ticked all of the boxes! It stains so powerfully and does so equally, it doesn’t cling to the outline of my lips and fade in the center. It’s such a weightless wearable tint that I’ve only had for a couple of weeks and I’ve almost run out of cause I can’t stop packing it on all day every day!
Let me know what products you loved this past month!
