Peel Your Skin to Perfection…

Do I even have to start another post with an introduction to my pore problem? I can’t help it, guys. It’s a huge struggle. For years I had the hardest time with breakouts- and all I’d ever think is how much I would never complain about any skin issue so long as I no longer broke out. Well, I was wrong. I am grateful that  my break outs have calmed down, but this pore dilemma is just testing me. My pores are so insanely visible and absolutely nothing seems to do anything about it. My The Ordinary skincare routine has definitely helped keep them in check- but they’re still very much there. I’m constantly on the hunt for a product that will really help- and you’ve all come along in the hunt with me. Well, I thought I’d share my one holy grail product that has made the biggest difference…

Over the last year I’ve been all about acids. I can’t believe I had been scared to use them for so long. Acids just seem to work best with my skin, they really give me the quickest and most visible results. I’ve been loving anything from a lactic acid to some BHAs. They’ve really taken over my skincare routine and I find myself constantly drawn to anything acid-related.

A few weeks ago I leaped at the opportunity to try The Ordinary’s first mask-like product. The Ordinary’s AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution is a peeling solution that is applied to the skin for a maximum of 10 minutes and a maximum of twice a week. This intense dose of acids promises to deeply exfoliate your skin’s surface and help brighten your skin as well as minimize texture and pores over time. The solution contains Tasmanian Pepperberry (which is what it owes it’s gorgeous colour to) which works to calm down your skin and avoid any irritation as a result of how strong this is.

It comes in a gel like red formula, and yes it does leave you looking like Kim Kardashian post PRP facial. When I first applied this it did slightly tingle, but only slightly. When I washed it off I didn’t really notice anything so I was a bit let down….then I woke up! My skin has never looked or felt better. I cannot possibly rave enough about this peel. It visibly brightened my skin and reduced my texture from the first use.

Now that I’m about halfway through the bottle, I’ve formed even more of an obsession. I have finally noticed a difference with my pores! Now, they aren’t completely gone but they are drastically reduced. I just have to rave about this because absolutely nothing else has made this much of a difference with my pores. Aside from pores- this has really been helping with my scarring, another problem I never thought would go away.

I’m already planning to repurchase this because I genuinely think that if I stick to it just a little longer, my skin will be in perfect condition- well as perfect as mine can be. I’ve noticed my foundations all sitting so nicely now that I’ve started with this peel. My pores are really less visible- at least to me. I just wish I took a before photo to show how much it’s improved my skin. Texture is practically gone- I honestly find my skin is so soft and smooth (although the softness is also thanks to another new product in huge part, I’ll share more soon!) and I just feel a lot more comfortable with my skin. I find myself okay with wearing lightweight light coverage foundations even for big nights out because I just feel so much more comfortable with how my skin looks. If it weren’t for my scars I’d probably even go without a base some days!!

Let me know what product you feel has helped most with your pores!

Great review! Will need to check this out. I feel your pain but I also found drinking a lot of water makes a massive difference too… although it’s a bit of a chore if you’re not used to it xx

I’m so bummed that this product isn’t sold in Canada! C’mon, The Ordinary is a Canadian company and they deny me this! **CRIES** 😥 I shall have to acquire this through some grey market…

  8. This sounds so interesting! I have quite enlarged pores on my nose and they really bug me too, but I’m not sure if I’m just being super nit-picky or if they are legitimately large pores hahaha I must admit that this type of product does scare me a little, but next time I’m stocking up I might take the plunge and purchase this too! 🙂 xx
