Holy Grail Skincare Brand

Shock, horror. Another post about The Ordinary. If you couldn’t tell by now, I’m sure my need to constantly discuss it has  made clear my love for this brand. I’m sorry, but when a brand works as amazingly as this; it deserves to be made a big deal of! The Ordinary as a concept impressed me, before even trying any of the products out. For a brand to finally cut all the bullshit and fill the niche of providing a quality product using quality ingredients at an affordable price point. It’s honestly crazy to me that their whole concept revolves around stripping away the costs of packaging and marketing, when as far as I’m concerned I actually love their packaging! I love how sleek and simple it is.

I can sum up all my reasons for loving this brand in two words; it works. It just works. Sounds simple enough, and yet countless of hundreds of dollars are dropped monthly by me trying to find the perfect skincare products that works. I’ve spared no expenses, and I’ve done thorough research trying to figure out what can work for me.

For years and years now I’ve suffered occasional breakouts. Some weeks are harder than others, but I can confidently say there wasn’t ever a day where I didn’t have at least one active breakout… Ok, wait. Actually, my first round of Biologique Recherche’s P50 saved my skin for a good month or two ages ago. But, once I repurchased it just didn’t work the same. I’ve been through it all. I’ve gone through terrible patches where I’ve genuinely felt depressed as a result of my skin. I just couldn’t leave the house without the highest coverage of foundation and as a Uni student that was hard. I’d look around and everyone would just look so effortlessly fine, meanwhile I was there waking up at 5 am during finals week slathering on Makeup Forever’s finest for a long day of writing papers. Needless to say, I struggled.

I was just so drawn to the brand the second I read up about it, and I decided to pick up a few of their products to try out for a blog post and I’ve been making orders ever since. I’ve tried most of their products, and I’m still planning another order of some more. If you read my first post you’ll know I started out with the Lactic Acid, Niacinamide + Zinc, Alpha Arbutin and Advanced Retinoid. I stuck to a strict routine for a couple of months. Within a week I noticed that I had stopped breaking out, and that has gone on until this day. Now, as I’ve said before I have had the occasional breakout but really I’m to blame. I trust this routine to keep my skin clear, so I’ve used the opportunity to try out products I’ve thought broke me out before in order to truly put them to the test- and they definitely failed!

The Ordinary is such a revolutionary brand, and that’s why it’s my holy grail favourite skincare brand of all time. It worked wonders on my skin and it costs me next to nothing. I’m constantly surprised by how amazingly their products work, it honestly is shocking. Please read the post I linked above, because that goes more in depth on how my daily routine works. But more recently I’ve also been loving some other products. The AHA+ BHA Peel mask has been working so beautifully on my skin. I can already see results, and I’m so excited to see how it works the more I try it. I’ve always been loving the Caffeine eye gel, that’s been really helping with darkness under my eyes. I FINALLY am going to get the foundation this week, so I’m very excited to try that out and keep you all posted. I just haven’t tried something of this brand that I haven’t loved, and as you can see I’ve tried a few…

I will continue to rave on and on and on about The Ordinary, purely in the hopes that someone out there that’s going through what I did will come across one of my posts and have their lives changed. Everyone’s skin is different, and I appreciate that it may not work the same for everyone– but at that price point, it’s honestly worth a try! I hope this post inspires you to give them a try, because I’m sure they won’t disappoint!

I just started using the Vitamin C suspension and have been using the Alpha Arbutin for about 2 weeks. I will add the Buffet serum in a few weeks after I make sure the Vitamin C serum is working for my skin. It is too soon to say how it works for me but I have high hopes!

Eek! I cannot wait for an update on how the foundation works for you. I agree, so much money spent on products that worked for a bit or didn’t work at all and for a fraction of the cost, I have the best skin I have had in ages. Makes you wonder. What a thorough post, I appreciate all of the information and could not agree more!!

  4. I’m making my first purchase of 8 of their products this weekend. Really excited and it is so cheap. I can definitely afford to keep up purchasing their products after I use them up, if they work. I’m buying many in the hopes that I find a few gems that really work for what I’m looking for.

Hahaha I know, I have a problem honestly! It’s just so affordable and I’m so used to spending so much on one product, so I just buy so many!

Yes yes and yes! I’ve somehow persuaded my two friends to start using them and they haven’t been disappointed either! I saw the foundation and colour selection yesterday on their website and the range is fantastic! I don’t think I’ll be able to get my hands on any soon though as the website I order off stresses that it’s on pre-order and (extremely) high in demand.

Yesss! Love finding fellow The Ordinary- lovers haha. Yeah it’s impossible honestly. I preordered the foundations like a month ago, and I only just got an email that ONE of them was coming my way like the other day. Took so so so long. Thank you for reading x

I’m very curious about this brand, but it’s just so overwhelming! I don’t really know where to start but I’d like to try something. I struggle with acne, although summer sun has significantly made a difference and I’ve hardly broken out. I have medium skin so my scarring stays around forever! And ever!! I’m going to look into something that will hopefully minimize that.
